LOSS OF THE WAIPA.

[Rkote&’b Tkleqbamb,] LONDON, Dec. 21. The ship Waipa, bound from Lyttelton to London, is ashore at Dunkirk, on the northern coast of France. She is believed to bo seriously injured, and is now full of water. The Waipa left Lyttelton on Oct. 1, under the command of Captain J. M. Baxter. The following was her passenger listdsloon : Mr* Top per, Mis* Ellen Topper, Matter James Topper, Mr W. H. Davie.; Miss Magdalene Davie*, Mis* Florence Bnolgrove. Second class ; Mr and Mrs S. B. Plant, Miss H, L. Plant, Masters S. Plant, B. Plant and Onthrie Plant. Steerage t Mr and Mrs Marland, Miss May Marland, Masters J. Marland, F. Marland', T, Marland, Frank Marland, Miss Sibbold, Mrs M'Qinlay. Total, 21. The Waipa, which wo* a ship of 1017 tons, took a large cargo, details of which are given below, and left port in excellent order. Her ohief officer was Mr Baud, and both he and Captain Baxter occupied their positions for the first time. She was expected to make a good run Home, and, bnt for her accident, would probably have done so, as she was only 82 days out.
