Telegrams from Dunedin advise the arrival at that port of the Mountaineer from Mauritius, with a cargo of sugar, a portion of which is intended for this market. Sales of •uga* are bring pushed at late rates and on long terms, in view of the shipment* coming to this market. Crushed lump has been sold at 47s to m, according to quality, llcroe mains have been quitted at Sd to SJdj currants at s|d to bid. Figs are scarce, and even at price* obtainable are unprofitable to importer*. Keroaene has been selling in small lots at la iOd and U 2d for low and high test respectively. Candies are neglected. Tobaccos continue firm, with every prospect of higher prices ruling. 'lho increased value has brought into request many parcel* of inferior quality. Beit brand* of twist are selling at Is 3d to Is 4d, aod inferior at a shad* less. Fancy tobaccos are firmly bold. Soda crystals continue dull of isle oven at tempting prices. At the Addington Saleyards on Wednesday there was a good show of fat stock yarded, but there was only a moderate attendance, and the supply was again very much in ezoocs of the requirements of the trade.
