WAITANGI FERRY. THE Provincial Government are'prepared to receive tenders from persons desirous of occupying the above Ferry on the following conditions :—• ; The contractor to build a house of accommodation on the Town Reserve; to provide beds for at least six travellers, and shelter for six horses; to erect suitable stockyard and keep the same in repair; to provide and keep in. repair a punt for the conveyance of travellers, horses, dnij's, cattle, and sheep, and to ferrythe same across the river at the following charges, viz;— „ . . ' For every passenger on foot or ■--.>■ horseback 2s. 6d. For every horse (exclusive of those ridden or in teams) ..... 2s. 6d. For every dray 6s. Od. For sheep per score... ss. Od. The Government will grant the free use of the Keserve of 640 acres, or such portion thereof as may for the time being remain unsold; and a small bonus, for a period of three years, if the .-conditional license for the house is retained so long, and.will .undertake to renew the tenancy for a further •period of three years. . .... ;•:■':.. I The Superintendent will grant a conditional., license free of charge, for the period ending 30th j June, 1859; after which time application for its renewal must be made to the Bench of Magistrates, in accordance with the Public House Ordinance. Any further information may be obtained at this office. RANGITATA FERRY. rg^HE Provincial Government are preJ_ pared to receive fresh applications from persons desirous of occupying the above : Ferry on the following conditions : — : The contractor to build a house of accommodation oii the Ferry Reserve, on the north bank ; of the river; to provide beds for at least six travellers, and shelter for six horses; to erect suitable stockyard and iheepyard, and keep the ■.premise's in good and teriantable repair; to provide a horse, and to be ready at all reasonable times to convey passengers across the river on ; horseback, at a charge of 2s. 6d. each ; to direct ( drays, and if required, to accompany them, at a charge of 2s. 6d. each ; and to erect and maintain a flag-pole, 40 feet high, and keep a flag [flying daily, from sunrise to sunset, on the ter- , race immediately above the house, so as to vindicate, the.position_o.f...the Ford to parties coming from-the. northward. . " . The Government will grant the free use of the two reserves of 100 acres each, and a small bonus, for a period of three years, if the ccndi- : tional license for the house is retained so long, and will undertake to renew the tenancy for a further period of thre» years. And a license will be granted to cut timber on the Govern-. i ment Reserve in; Talbot Forest, for the house, i yards, and fencing, and firewood, for the first i three years, free of charge. ' The Superintendent will grant a conditional license free of charge, for the j rear ending 30th June, 1859, after which time, application for its renewal must be made to the Bench of Magistrates, in accordance with the Public House Ordinance.
