The Oriental has nearly completed her lading, and will be ready for sea about the 25th inst. The Mountain Maid left Hobart Town with a large cargo of timber on the 17 th ultimo. The Corsair was then nearly ready for sea, and would sail shortly for this port direct. When about 300 miles from Hobart Town the Mountain Maid fell in with a heavy gale from N.N.W. and was found to have .sprung a leak, which was at last discovered under the quarter; and the pumps were accordingly kept going. Shortly after the wind chopped to the S. and E., blowing very hard, and the brig was obliged to run;, when, there being some apprehension of danger,1 Captain Wood took off the hatches and hove overboard about 10,000 feet of timber. From this time a succession of heavy weather was experienced, especially off Stewart's Island, but by careful management all further danger'and damage were avoided, and the passage was completed in fifteen days.
