For Nelson, ship Westminster, with despatch. AKABOA. Jan. 30th, sailed, the French whaling ship General Teste, 560 tons, Capt. A. Le Mereier, for the South Seas. One hand missing, a Swiss.
We understand that the Swiss who deserted from the General Teste is being harboured somewhere in the neighbourhood of Ikorakij also, that a Maori named Reuben is somewhere about the fishery there ; it appears that he has. been induced to desert from the Milo by pro* mises of a good share in the approaching season. Two French men, deserters from the Tour dv Pin, while in Pigeon Bay, are in Port Levy. The ready employment of deserters must prove the reverse of attractive to commanders of whale ships.
