The little steamer Planet arrived in port on Wednesday evening after a rather dilatory passage from "Sydney. She left Port Jackson on the 9th January, and came down to Port Underwood under sail." There she rigged her funnel, and leaving on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m., steamed down the coast in 39 hours, at little more than half-speed. She is 74 feet long, and will carry between 30 to 40 tons of goods under hatches; she is colonial built, four years old, with engines of nominal 30-horse power but working up to 45, and uew with the vessel. Having been used as a tug boat and in the passenger trade she will require some alterations to be made in her fittings to suit her to the peculiar trade of our rivers and coast; when these are effected she will commence operations. The Ocean Queen arrived in the river Heathcote yesterday morning, having left Wellington on Wednesday. The Canterbury was to sail on Thursday.
