Markets.
On Monday last Mr. Alport sold by auction an unimproved quarter acre section of land in the town of Lyttelton, at the corner of Dublin street and Norwich Quay, for £410. Barton Farm, Charteris Bay, containing 164 acres, with buildings and improvements thereon, was sold by private contract to Mr. Manson, of Governor's Bay, for £1500. The price of meat was raised in Christchurch one penny per pound some weeks ago. In Lyttelton and Kaiapoi the butchers are at last following the example. The price of bread has fallen in Lyttelton, it now stands at 14d. per 4-lfe loaf.
