The nomination for this place took place at Gregg's Barn, Riccarton. There were six candidates. Mr. J. Bealey, proposed by Mr. F. Thompson and seconded by Mr. Preston. . Mr. Bowen, by Meßsrs. Harrison and Inwood. Mr. Shand, by Messrs. Adams and Guinness, j Mr. Thomson, by Messrs. C. Perceval and John Hill. - Mr. Woodford, by Messrs. Inwood and James Hill. Mr. Wyatt, by Messrs. Haskins and Bourne. Each of the candidates addressed the meeting j a show of hands was declared to be in favour of Messrs. Thomson, Wyatt, Bowen and Woodford; and Messrs. Shand and Bealey demanded a poll. The polling was taken yesterday ; our latest accounts give :— Papanui, 4 o'clock. Thomson 105 Woodford 86 Wyatt 103 Bealey 22 Bowen 94 Shand 20 The Riccarton poll has not reached us, but it was certain at our latest advices that the four gentlemen firet-named would be returned.
