l and fifty-seven, hath been directed to me, Henry Arthur Scott, Esquire, as Eeturning Officer for the Heathcote District, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, four legally qualified persons to serve as Members of the Provincial Council for the said Heathcote District: Now, therefore, I, the said Henry Arthur Scott, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give Notice that a Public Meeting of the Electors of the Heathcote District will be holden at Christchurch Quay on Thursday the sth day of November next,' at noon, for the purpose of nominating four persons to serve as Members of the Provincial Council for the said Heatheote District; and, in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates or any of them, such Polling shall take place on Friday, the 6th day of November next, at Christchurch Quay, and at Mr. Archer's house, Lower Lincoln Eoad.
