District, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently, and in manner and form by law prescribed, a legally qualified person to serve as a' Member of the Provincial Council | for the said Rakaia District: Now, therefore, I, the said George Arthur Emilius Ross, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give Notice that a Public' Meeting of the Electors *■ of the RakaiaDistriet will-be held in the Woolshed, Waireka Station, on Monday, the 2nd day of November next, at noon, for the purpose of nominating a person to serve as a Member of the Provincial Council for the said Rakaia District ; and, in the event of a Poll being demanded for the Candidates or any of them, such Polling shall take place on Tuesday the 3rd day of November next, at the following polling places, viz:— - ' At Mr. E. Now, therefore, I, the said James Townsend, jun., Returning Officer for the said Ashley District, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, give notice that a publip meeting of the electors of the said Ashley District will be holden at Mr. Torlesse's Woolshed, Fernside, Mairaki Downs, on Monday the 2nd day of November next, at noon, for, the purpose of nominating one person to serve as Member of the. Provincial Council for the said Ashley District ; and in the event of a poll being demanded for the candidates or any of them, such polling shall take place on Tuesday the 3rd day of November next, at Mi*.
