LONGDEN has been honored with instructions from the Superintendent to sell by Auction at His Honor's residence ia Cashel street, Christchurch, in •about three weeks from this 'time, and prior to the departure of His Honor for England, the whole of his HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE ANB EFFECTS; particulars of which and day of Sale will be given in a future advertisement. Christchurch, July 29th, 1257. KETCH EMU. MESSRS. ROBERT WAITT & CO. will Sell by Public Auction, at their Rooms, Norwich Quay, on MONDAY, the 31st AUGUST, 1857. By order of the Mortgagee, The Ketch Emu, as she now lies at anchor in this port, together with masts, yards, sails, anchors, chains, and stores. The Emu was built in 1850, at Brisbane Water, of Blue Gum, is 32| tons, N. M., and will carry 50 tons dead weight, is coppered, and copper fastened; her length is 49 feet, breadth, amidships 14 feet and 6-tenths, depth of hold 6 feet. She sails very fast, and is a most desh-able vessel for the coast trade. An inventary of her stores can be seen at the office of the Auctioneers. Terms at Sale. To commence at 1 o'clock precisely. The Provincial Government are unable at present to state at what the rate of the passage money to the colony will be fixed; but all bills will be prepared on the supposition that it will amount to £20; should it be less, a proportional part of the bills will be remitted at the time of re-payment.
