HIS HONOR theSuperintendentdirects it to be publicly notified that he has, with the advice of the Executive Council, in accordance with regulations now in force for the disposal, sale, letting, and occupation of the Waste Lands of the Crown within the Province of Canterbury, reserved for the present from sale, All that part of the land comprised within the town-ship of Geraldine upon which any timber or trees of any description are now standing, for the preservation or sale of such timber as may be hereafter determined. I JAMES EDWARD FITZ •) GERALD, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in virtue of ttye powers vested in me by the 43rd clause % the Waste Lands Regulations now in force within the said province, do hereby reserve from sale, until the First day of September next, the portion of land hereinafter described ; that is to say, Thirty-eight acres, more or less, situate in the - Lincoln District, commencing about 5 chains south of a creek running in the Tai Tapu, east of Mr. Guinness's section, having nine chains frontage to the Lower Lincoln-road, and back 40 chains. The whole of such land, or such part thereof as the Waste Lands Board shall adjudge, to be granted to James Smith, by way of payment for work to be done in accordance with a contract this day approved by me for the construction of part of the Governor's Bay road.
