£20 REWARD. DESERTED from "the British Barque ".Sussex," of Hobart Town, Owen Davis, Commander, while under easy sail oif Mcintosh Bay, Banks's Peninsula, on the morning of the 9th day of March, FIVE MEN',;taking a whale-boat and her , gear, viz:—James Wood Michael Woody, William Turner,-Thomas Figg| and David Stewart.' Three of these are Expiree Convicts, alias Old Lags. ' - £20 reward will be given for the boat James Wood, & David Stewart; £12 for the' boat, and £2 each for the other hands, . All parties, everywhere; are hereby warned that, if in any case it can be brought home to any individuals'who may have Aided or Abetted these men in stealing this boat or , remaining absent from their Duty, the HEAVIEST PENALTY the law can inflict will be sought in the Proper Court. N.B. Any information that will lead to convictions .of any of the men, of any one who may buy the boat, or of any one harbouring or secreting the Deserters will be handsomely paid for. The boat is stone coloured outside, and lead coloured inside, -with two top outside planks black; is rather short, and pulls five oars; has a crack on starboard quarter, filled with white lead, not painted over. Any body finding the boat will deliver to Capt. Gay in Pigeon Bay, Sub-Collector in Akaroa, H. J. LeCren, Lyttelton.
