WELLINGTON.
The Pandora.—H. M. Surveying' schooner " Pandora," Captain Drury, arrived in this harbour on Saturday afternoon, from Auckland, alter a passage of six days. The "Pandora" did not intend to call at Wellington when she left Auckland, being employed surveying the coast between Hawkes' Bay and the East Cape, and consequently she has brought no snail. We have seen an Am-klan.i paper of the 11th inst., but it contained nothing tint would Ik- of interest to our readers. — Wellington Independent.

We understand th:il active steps are being taken f«»r their immoiliate opening in Wellington and Auckland. We sincerely wish them every success. Tlie public will now be sio longer subject to the caprice of one bank, whose Manager has one irresponsible Director, who must obey his mandates. We shall enter more fully into the subject in our next. — Ibid.
