WOOL MARKETS.
Liverpool Wool Maskst, Oct. 6th.—Since our last monthly report there has heeu a great demand.-for Australian by private contract, and several sales are reported at a higher ratio than the recent London sales; our market being so aiijiicent to the consuming districts offers many other advantages to importers. The sales reported by private treaty-inure been considerable. They have bera chiefly in Mogador, Icelaud, Oporto, Australian, Buenos Ayres, Cordova, Italian fl«ece, -Egyptian, Peruvian, &c, at satisfactory rates. Van Diemaa's Land, —Scoured fine, Is. 1 id to 2s. 4d. ; middling, Is. 7ti. to ls.'9d.; inferior, Is. 4d. to Is. od.; lamb's, Is. lOd. to 2s. 4d.; skin, Is. 2d. to Is. 6d. ; pieces and locks, Is. to Is. 4d.; grease, 9d. to lid.— Hobartoa Mercury.
