Gentlemen, — The Honorable James Stuart WoTtley, having resigned liis seat in the General Assembly, I beg to offer myself as a candidate for your suffrages. I am aware that I have no past services to record to justify me in taking this step, but having resided amongst you for about three years, the least I cau say is that I am no stranger to you. If yon think fit to elect me as your represen tative, I will pledge myself to attend the sittings of the Assembly; and when there, I will use my best abilities, regardless of personal considerations, to promote the welfare and interest of the colony, and of this province in particular. - .The limits of an address will not permit me ■to comment upon many questions of political moment, but at a future opportunity I hope to give you every satisfactory assurance.
