Gentlemen, — XT has been necessary for me, in compliance j -*- with ihe law, to vacate my seat in the Provincial Council, in order that I might accept the office of Provincial Secretary, to which his Honor the Superintendent has been pleased to appoint ■ me. The duty, therefore, devolves on you of supplying-the vacancy, and I beg leave l-espect-fully to offer myself for re-election. It is now scarcely six months since you did . me the honour to return me as one of your representatives. Sisice then, there has been a protracted and laborious session.
