NOTICE. i Province of Canterbury to Wit. WHEREAS* Writ under the hand of: . James Edward Fitz Gerald, Esq;.* Su-i pei-intendent of the said Province, bearing date the loth day -of February, in the year of Our Lord One Thbu^hd |light Hundred and Fifty Five, has been directed to me, Charles Simeon, Esq., as Returning-Officer for the town of Lyttelton, in the said Province, requiring and commanding me to cause to be elected by and from amongst the voters duly qualified for that purpose, freely and indifferently and in manner and form by law prescribed, Three Persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the town of Lyttelton, NOW therefore I, the said Charles Simeon, Esq., returuing-officer for the town of Lyttelton/.do hereby in pursuance of the said recited writ, give notice that a public meeting of the electors of the aforesaid town, will be held in the town of Lyttelton, at the Police Office, on Tuesday the 13th day of March, at ndoii, for the purpose of nominating Three persons to serve as members of the Provincial Couucil for the town of Lyttelton, and in the event of a poll being demanded for the candidates, or any of them, such polling shall take place on Wednesday, the 14th day of March,in the Police Office, at Lyttelton. NOW therefore, I, the said CharlesSimeon,Esq., Returning Officer for the Christchurch Country District, do hereby, in pursuance of the said recited Writ, Give notice that a Public Meeting ofthe electors of the Christchurch Country district will be held in the Market Place ofthe town of Christchurch, on Thursday, the Bth day of March next at noon, for the purpose of nominating four persons to serve as members of the Provincial Council for the Christchurch Country District, and in' the event of a poll being demanded for the candidates, or any of them, such polling shall take place on Saturday, the 10th day of March next, in the lobby of the Provincial Council Chamber at Christchurch, in the Police office at Lyttelton,and atMr.Black's store at Kaiapoi.
