PUBLIC NOTICE. A N Adjourned Meeting of the Church -a- Property Trustees will be held in the Schoolroom at Christchurch, on Thursday, the i 15th instant, at noon, for the following purposes :— 1. To receive a farther Report from the committee appointed to negotiate with Mr. Sewell. 2. To Persons in want of Servants and Labourers. "VTOTICE is Heeeby Given, that a -1-^1 Register is opened in the Immigration Office at Lyttelton for applications for servants and labourers from amongst the Immigrants now j shortly expected to arrive from England and l Australia. I All such applications must be addressed to | Captain Pabsons, Immigration Agent, Lyttel- | ton, and should state the number of servants or \ labourers wanted, the nature of the service required of them, and the place where immigrants may apply for such service. Persons desirous of having servants or labourers hired for them on the arrival of any ship, must employ an agent in Lyttelton to make such engagements. ■ The Immigration Agent cannot interfere between employers and labourers further than to inform the immigrants where labour is required, - - • John-Paksoss, Immigration Agent. THE above Society having issued a further amount of Shares, the Committee beg to state that there are a few shares undisposed of, which, by the Deed of Settlement, are now open to the pnblic, and can be obtained on application to S. IT is proposed to establish at Lyttelton a Society for the encouragement of Horticulture and Floriculture. Persons desirous of becoming members are invited to send their names to the Hon. Secretary. Should the means of the Society permit, it is intended to have, during tbe summer 1555 -56, three Fruit, Flower, aud Vegetable Shows, on days to be appointed according to tbe forwardness of the season.
