THE Undersigned has just completed arrangements with the above firms for carrying out a well-digested scheme of Emigration from England to this Settlement. TJIS HONOR THE SUPERINTEN--IJL DENT directs it to be notified that all persons who shall henceforth encroach on. the land reserved for public roads within the Provir.ee, either by digging ditches, or raising banks thereon, will be prosecuted, and that those persons who have already so encroached will be liable at any. time to be called on to replace the soil soremoved or to remove the banks so made. Provincial Government are prepared to enter into arrangements for the establishment of Steam communication between Lyttelton and the Plains in one of the following ways. ° Firstly, by the grant of a bonus to any person or company who shall establish such communication, calculated on the loss likely to be sustained. Secondly, by guaranteeing a certain rate of dividend on the capital embarked in the undertaking. Thiully, by advancing a. part of the capital required. _ Capitalists who are disposed to carry out the views of the Government upon any of the conunions above described, arc requested to send hi tenders to ihisnfiice, containing full particulars of the terms on which they propose to act.
