Barker and Co.: A few loads of new wheat have come to market, which sold at from 4s 6*d. to ss. per bushel. Flour remains at last quotations, I*l. for fine, and 121. for second quality per ton of 2000 lbs. Br»n, Is. to Is. 2d. per bush, Mr. Briellat; The holydays being over, it is expected that some of the new crop will now be sent to market. At present little or none has appeared. The nominal price may be quoted at 4s. 6d. to ss. per bush. Flour is very firm at previous rates, namely, HI. per ton for fine, and 121. for seconds, with a tendency to advance. Bran, Is. 4d. per bushel. Mr. Smart: No alteration has taken place in either wheat or flour since last report. Maize.—2s. sd. to 3s. per bushel, according to quality and sample.

Birth.—On Thursday, the 19th inst., at Lyttelton, the wife of James Edward Fitzgerald, Esq., of a daughter. Married.—On the 15th Jan., at the Forbury, Dunedin, by the Rev. J. A. Fenton, M.A., Henry Jeffreys, Esq., J.P., eldest son of the late Venerable Archdeacon of Bombay, to Ellen Penelope, eldest daughter of W. H. Valpy, Esq., J.P., late of the H. E. I. Company's Bengal Civil List.
