DITCHING, rpENDERS will be received up to Satur- -»- day the 20th instant, for making between 60 and 70 chains of Ditch and Bank, the former [ to be 3 feet wide at the top, one foot at the i bottom, and 2 feet deep. The rate to be speci- | fied at per chain, and the. time in which the whole will be completed. The Tenders to be sealed and left' at Mr. Bishop's, Market-place, Christchurch, addressed " Tender for Ditching." THE ANNIVERSARY. rT^ HE Committee appointed to arrange the j*~ Sports for the anniversary on the 16th inst., have decided on the following popular English amusements, for all of which (the crick-et-match excepted^suitable prizes will be offered proportionate to the amount of funds which theCommittee may find they have to dispose of. The Cricket Match will commence at ten o'clock', at which hour precisely, the wickets'will be. pitched on the ground of the C. C. C. in Hagley Park. The following is a list of the two elevens: : — C. Particulars and Conditions of entry, &c, may be learned of Mr. Hart, of the White Hart Inn, or of Messrs. Gartner and Ellis, of the Golden Fleece Hotel, Christchurch.
