AUCKLAND, This Day. Ihe collections yesterday, at the opening of St Patrick's Cathedral, amounted to £586. TeWhiti eclipsed. Another maori fanatic has arisen in the North in the person of Maria, the daughter of Aporo Pungari. She has succeeded in making many followers. Her theory is t'nat the millennium is close at hand and that a great river suddenly appear and wash the spirits of departed maoris white as those of the pakeha, and that they! will reign for ever and aye with the chosen ten thousand of Christ. Maria is causing great excitement in all the north ern settlements.
