AUCKLAND
This Day. bir Julius Yogel addressed the citizens last night in the Theatre Royal. Lhe building was crowded to excess. His Worship the Mayor in the chair. The address occupied about four hours and was listened to with marked attention, at the conclusion it was greeted with prolonged cheers, and he was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Mr R. 1 . Booth delivers a farewell address on Monday evening when a preservation will be made to hiin by the citizens. The funeral of Simon O'Brien took place yesterday, with military honors. A boy named Sauiiders, five years of age was drowned in the calliope dock yesterday afternoon. It is supposed that he fell in while playing near the edge. An inquest is to be held this afternoon. . Joseph Ellis, hotelkeeper, late of Tauranga was examined yesterday, before the official assignee in bankruptcy. Up to the present time there are only eight applications for space at the N. Z. Industrial exhibition.
