AUSTRALIAN.
SYDNEY, February 17. The proprietors of the "Sydney Morning Herald" and "EveningNews" each give £1,000 towards the patriotic fund, and a similar amount has been subscribed by bir Daniel Cooper. The troops are to embark on the 3rd prox. for Soudan. The Governmentreceived, atelegram to-day from Lord Wolseley, dated February 16 in which his Lordship says 11 Please inform the troops coming here that I lcok forward with pride aiid honour at having Australian soldiers under my command in the field." Arrangements for despatch of the troops are progressing favorably, in addition to the Iberia the steainer Australasian will probably be chartered as a transport. The enrolment of force is nearly c mplete and will consist in all of 734 officers and men, and 200 horses.
