This Day. William Sheehan, accused in the Castletownroche murder was again brought up, and further remanded till the 26th inst., upon the application of Supt. Thomson.
Mr Booth addressed a meeting of Temperance workers last evening, on matters inconnection with the appoaching Temperance mission. He said he wished it to be understood that the mission was purely unsectarian and nonpolitical. The mission commence3 to-'mght. The Grovenor authorizes an offer of free pardon to any person implicated not being the prinoipal offender, who shall give information that will lead to the apprehension of the person or persons who caused the recent fire at the New Zealand Timber Coy's premises. The Takapuna Licensing Bench have deolined to issue booth licences for the approaching Takapuna Races, viz on Regatta day. The 'thirsty souls' are up in arms, and it is stated that a public indignation meeting will be held this week
