GISBORNE,
This Day. A boy named Leonard Stubbs, aged 12, son of Mr Stubbs, Chemist, was drowned in the river Taraheu, yesterday he was bathing and got out of his depth. He could not swim, two other boys got hold of him but he clutched so hard they had to let go. The body was afterwards recovered.
