EFFICIENT N.Z. SURVEYORS.

MANY GOING TO EASTERN COUNTRIES. (By Telegraph—Frees Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. At a meeting this week of the Council of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors, it was reported that, owing to the high standard of conduct and technical efficiency of the profession in New Zealand, Eastern countries with large areas still undeveloped were looking in an increasing degree to New Zealand-trained men to go abroad. With those just left and on the point of leaving, fifteen fully qualified New Zealand surveyors were departing for the Federated Malay States, British North Borneo and Fiji. The Council went as a deputation to the Minister 6f Lands to stress the urgency of the new Survey Bill and discuss an' improved method of levying the Department’s demand for reserves in sub-divisions for residential purposes.
