LADIES’ GOLF.
THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the lady associates of the Levin Golf Club was held in Mr Mackenzie’s room last evening. Mrs W. M. Clark presided. ■ The hon.. secretary reported that the "pastf seadon ’a -play, shoived an improvement on the previous .year, inasmuch as several L.L.U. handicaps were gained and a number reduced. Of interclub matches, six were won and two lost. Competitions were keenly contested with the following results:— June Ist.—Stroke for non-L.G.U. handicappers (Mrs Sdhan’s trophy); Won by Mrs J. R. McDonald. Bogey for holders of L.G.U. handicap.—W.on by Mrs Porter. July 6thj Flag.—Mrs Porter. August 3, stroke.—Miss Whittaker. August 27, L.G.U. bronze medal.— Miss Whitaker, • Mrs Brown’s trophy for lowest L.G.U: handicap gained.—Miss Alloway (run-ner-up, Miss Doyle). Eclectic competition. —Mrs F. F. Newman. President ,’s trophy, Canadian mixed foursome.- —Mfs C. ,G. Wilson and Mr Todd' Lady champion.—Mrs P. Harper. The • election of officers resulted as follows: Hon. Secretary.—Mrs C. G. Wilson (re-elected). Captain.—Mrs K. E. Adams. Committee.—Mesdames W. A. Clark and W. S. Park, Misses Kebbell, Whitaker and Cadell. Two handsome trophies have been generously placed at the disposal of the ladies’ division for the coming season. One is a silver-rose-bowl, presented by Mrs W. S. Pafk and to be known as the “Park Rose Bowl,” and the other is a silver cup given by Mrs F. F. Newman for annual competition. These fine trophies should have the effect of stimulating play in the coming season and there is bound to be keen rivalry for their possession.
