AUTOMOBILE CLUB TO PAY DAMAGES. (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright.) (Received This Day, 12.55 a.m.) PARIS, February 28. During the Boulogne-sur-mer race in 1927, a British automobile crashed into the crowd killing a gendarme and seriously injuring two spectators. In the absence of a representative of the British car who could be sued, the dependents of the victims sued the Automobile Club. The Appeal Court decided that the Club holding the race assumed the responsibility of all risks and awarded the gendarme’s widow £I2OO and his two children £4OO each.
