E, Douglas’s wat tmie in-, of the 'drugi aalvarsan and being- of use in the treatment of septicemia, Dr. Colebrooke lately extended investigations to puerpural infection. The Medical Research Council publishes his report, which takes -into account the possibility of a 'chemo-therapeutic agent defeating its own ends by con.currenfc poisoning of body cells. Summing up, the report says; “ Although there .is ground , for believing the administration of these arsenical -drugs sometimes leads to the destruction -of streptococci and assists patients to , this should not be expected in all cases. Therefore it is necessary that careful clinical tests be carried out to determine precisely how much can '.be achieved.’’ .
