PHOENIX v. PARAPARAUMU. The match between Phoenix ami Paraparaumu, played on the Levin Park Domain on Saturday, was won by Phoenix by 40 runs on the first innings. The batted first and made 90, the principal scorers being T. White 20 and H. Waggery 18. Bowling for Levin, Shelly took four wickets for 22 and Warren three for 31. The home team had not much difficulty in running up a score, mainly owing to the efforts of Bryant, who compiled 40 (including two sixes and six fours), and il. McDonald, who made 27. The other double-figure scorers wen; Warren 15, and Shelly 18, and the innings total was 130. * Four of the wickets were taken by 11. Waggery, for 44 runs. The Weraroa team had a comparatively easy win over Otaki on the Weraroa ground on Saturday. The visitors went in first and scored 83, the chief contributor being A. Flutcy, who made 34, including six fours. C. Bennett, for Weraroa, put up a great bowling performance, taking seven wickets for 25 runs. The home side rattled up 195, which included several good individual scores. Bennett extended himself was responsible for the top score of 72, which included three sixes and six fours. J. O’Connor made 30, and S. Hellamore 24. The best of Otaki's howlers was S. Simcox, who took three wickets for 11 runs. Following are the scores: — OTAKI.
