EXCURSION TO AUCKLAND AND WAITOMO CAVES.
It is pleasing to loam that the Railway Department is arranging a weekend excursion to Auckland, including a visit to the Waitomo Caves. This excursion will take place next week end : the excursion train leaving Wellington on Friday, 2nd March, arriving back on the Monday following at 7 a.m. The exeursionists will have a whole day and night to enjoy the numerous attractions in and around the Queen City, with its glorious harbour, and on the return journey on the Sunday a stop of six and a half hours will be made at Hangitiki for passengers to motor to Waitomo and explore the beauties of the caves. The fares show an outstanding reduction, being exactly half the ordinary ra^cs. An hotel list at Auckland to suit all pockets can be inspected at all stations and accommodation can be reserved when purchasing the rail ticket. This service is performed gratis. It can he confidently anticipated that those making the trip will experience a vow enjoyable week-end. See the Railway Department's advertisement in another column.
