The following is the remainder of the business transacted at Saturday's meeting of the Horowhenua County Council: ' ,i Mr P. Hennessy, Shannon, asbeci permission to put a gate across a road off Shannon East road to prevent stray cattle getting on to his property. Or Law said he would recommend that the request be granted, to which the Council agreed. Messrs Hislop and Brandon drew attention to the fact that County workmen were removing clay from a bank fronting Mrs Devonshire's property, thus undermiuing one of her fences. The writers asked that tlio practice be Tire 'Engineer was instructed to inform the roadmen accordingly.
