Appeal for Women's
RECOGNITION 'OF WAR WORK. Received this day, 10.35 a.m. Washington, December 2. President Wilson, addressing Congress, appealed again for an endorsement of women's suffrage because of the splendid work the women had done during the war. After asserting that he had no private object for going to France. President Wilson added: "It is now my duty to play a full part in making good what American soldiers offered tlieir life blood toobt'ain." It was impossible now to outline the reconstruction programme, but it wats neces arv to levy six thousand, million dollars in 1919 - •Representative William Rodenberg introduced into the House of (Representatives a resolution declaring that President Wilson'--: trip to EuYope disqualifies him from acting in the Phesidtentjial capacity and appointing the Vice-pre-sident to act during his absence.
