Land Sale.

The sale of tho remaining portion of the McDonald Estate, comprising 1848 acres of freehold and 3549 acres of leasehold, took place at Everybody's atre, Levin, yesterday afternoon. The ,sa!e war conducted by Messrs Dalgety and Co., 'Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs Wright Stephenson, Ltd., and Mr J. B. Moodie, of the former firm, was auctioneer. Oo ( nisid(erable interest attached to the sale and there was an attendance of over 200 when the bidding commenced. The f redholdl block was divided into eight lots, of Which ail were , disposed of with oiie exception, but the bidding was not spirited. The highest' prices reached were £26 per acre in lots 7 and 8. The goodwill of seven leasehold blocks was submitted) and four of. these. were sold and three passed in. Bidding w;ii- again without much spirit, the best of the leaseholds being passed in.
