Wellington, August 30. The N.Z. Farmers' [Distributing Co., Ltd., reports: The potato market still keeps firra; with suplies not over plentiful. There ts now quite a big demand for oats of all descriptions with prices firming. Maize is 'rather short in supply with rates also very ii)*m. Ryegrass is now besinning to move witihi pricep firm. Cocksfoot still remains high in price with small demand for good samples. Fowl wheat is at the moment being offered in limited quantities with , prices firm. Pork is still in short supply ■Hi (i anv offered is snapped up quickly at high' figures. Eggs are now slightly mere plentiful with prices a hit easier. Honey in bulk is short in supply. Cabbages are still realising high prices with supplies not over plentiful Cauliflowers arc slightly more plentiful; with a small change in value-. Carrots are at the moment in good supply wirth nriees easier. Onions have been a luV tie more plentiful during the week with prices slidhtly under last week s re port. White turnips are not fyiito 'o n'lontiful with figures slightly advanced' while lettuce are still in fair supjily with prices firm. Beetroot is not quiito so plentiful. Spring onions have been easier in price. Parsnips are a tittle higher in value owing uo reduced supplies. Marrows are still fairly plentiful with low quotations. Swedes aro ■are being supplied ;!n quantities exceeding the demand and low prices rule in c-oii'-equeiice. / Celery is not over plentiful with high T,al":es ruling. Leeks are still'in fair supply w;!th quotations firm. Rhubarb is not over supplied and prices are firm. . Dessert apples have advancedi slight Iv owing to supplies not being over plentiful. Cooking apples have■ .also advanced in price wS:h ™ ming forward too freely. Cook pears are now somewhat short m supply at >a slight advance. ' Potatoes, prime £12 to £1-; 10s ton. Cabbage, choice, 6s to 12s per sack. Cauliflower, 8s to 12s 6d per sack. Carrots, beslb 3s to 5s per sack.
Onions, £28 per ton. Turnips, wthite 3s to J- per sack. ■Lettuce, choice 6s to 8s 6d per case. Beetroot, 3s to 6s per sack. Spring .onions, 8d pen- bundle. Parsnips, 6s to 8s per sack.
