Want to Bombard Paris.
, ATTACKING A STRONG LINE. Received this clay at 8.55 a.m. London, June 10. Tlie Morning- Post's correspondent on the' French front says it is ridiculous to forecast tlie development of tie new German offensive, but it can be said that the Germans are attacking on a line which is strong in itself and also easily accessible to the French reserves.
Th enemy is pursuing his old principle of delivering hammerblows'on two adjacent salients, the apex points being Montdidier and the line held on the Marne. Unquestionably he hopes to secure a position wherefrom effectively to bombard Paris, believing he can by pressure on Paris force a conclusion of th§ war before America can throw in her weight, but at present there is no reason to fear this section. will not be victoriously defended.. FRENCH RESISTING DOGGEDLY. Received this day at 8.55 a.m. London, June 10.„ . Mr Perris states that the French are resisting doggedly in their covering positions which are" beyond the range of the minethrowers. Evidence has accumulated" of the heaviness of the German losses in the recent fighting and the disappearance of the shallow enthusiasm wherewith the offensive began. We continue to have the best of the local actions elsewhere.
