PART OF VAST ENCIRCLING MOVEMENT. OLECTKIO TELEGRAPH —COPYBIGHT.I LP*U PRESS AHSOCIATION• j Received this day 9.30 a.m. London, June IP The United Press correspondent. states that in their new offensive on" the Noyon-Montdidiei; front the Germans attacked with an average density of a division to every two kilometres, concentrating the fiercest effort on the. long Metz valley with the object of reaching the Oise in vicinity of Compiegne. The French are putting up the stiffest resistance and fighting is likely to continue for several days. The French, owing to their heavy artillery concentration, inflicted ilu> severest losses. The enemy's attack apparently constitutes the northern arm of a vast encircling project co-ordina-ting 'with the southern enveloping r.ttaek starting at Chateau' Thierry with a view to pushing nearer Paris and seeking to en- 4 velop the Franco-Americans be--tween Montdidier and Chateau Thierry.
