Anzac Day.
TO BE COMMEMORATED IN
LEVIN
In response to the Prime Minister's appeal Levin, along with other parts of New Zealand will fittingly commemorate Anzac Day on Thursday next, when the Mayor (Mr C. Blenkliorn) has arranged for a demonstration in Farland's theatre at 2 jtfm. to which citizens are invited. The gathering will no doubt be a thoroughly representative one in keeping with the notable occasion, and it will be of a semireligious nature. Addresses will be delivered by the Rev. J. H. Haslam, Mr W. H. Field, M.P. i and the Mayor, and such wellknown hymns as "Lead, Kindly Light," "0, God our Help in Ages Past," and ''Holy Father in Thy Mercy," will be sung. The Revs. W. Ford-Hutchinson and Bawden Harris wil also take part. i The Mayor to-day received a. telegram from Mr W. H. Field, M.P., stating that he had arranged for the Minister for Agriculture, Hon W. D. S. Macdonald, to come both to Levin and Manakau on Thursday so that Levin will be honoured with the presence of a Cabinet Minister for its demonstration.
C Company Territorials and 50 Company Levin Cadets will parade at the Levin High School at 1.30 p.m. on Anzac Day, and will march in procession headed by the Levin Band to the place of meeting. The school children also will take part.
