Presbyterian Sale of Work.

I ■ • , I _ J The Harvest Festival and Sale-of-work under the auspices of Hit I Presbyterian Church opened yesterday afternoon in the Ci>ntur\ Hall and the results obtained up to closing hour warrant the expectation that record business will be done. The Church is fortunate in having an exceptionally large number of enthusiastic workers of both sexes who gathered together a splendid collection of saleable goods. The produce stall is a monument to the persuasive powers of the committee and the liberality of the primary producers. A special feature is the festival , sweet stall which occupies pride of place in the centre of the hall and is very pretty, this having been designed by Mrs Middlemiss. During the evening a series of concerts organised by Mrs Cork did good business, while the Levin Band played outside the hall early in the evening. Following are the workers responsible for the festival-: Canvassers: Mesdames Devine and Cork, Messrs H. Murray, llutherford, A. Murray and I>. Laing. Sweet Stall: Misses Middlemiss, Walker and Smellie. Teu Eooms: Mesdames Simpson, McTaggart and Dag. Tea Room assistants: Misses Jenson, Ivy Jenson, M. McTaggart, Oag, and W. Blackburn. Ladies' Work Stall: Mesdames Thompson, Bagrie and McKenzie. Girls' Work Stall: Miss Williamson and Miss C. Blackburn. Surprise Packets: Mrs Cork and Misses Murray and J. Murray. Produce Stall: Messrs Mottersliead and Mellor. Secretary and Treasurer: Miss Stewart. The advertising arrangements were in the hands of Messrs Keys and Porteous. while the work of erecting stalls was carried out by Messrs McTaggart, Jenson and Stewart. The tea room furnishings were lent by Miss McKegg, Mr Williams and Mr Keys. The Fair will conclude, tonight when a new concert programme will be submitted and full stocks of useful goods will be offered at moderate rates.
