Quotations : Prime fat wethers -liGs, medium ditto uos 2d, prime fat ewes oos, extra prime tat ewes (wooliy) £2 Us ud, rams (potters) 2os to 255, agea ewes lGs Gd, medium shorn lambs 14s, light fat cows to £10 2s, forward condition cows £7 Is, store cows £4 (is to ±'(i 2s (id, vealcrs to £3 Gs, 18-months steers £7 10 s, weaner steers ±'2 ios to £:J, weaner heifers 25s to oils Gd, Jersey cross heifers ll.W.ii. £G 14s, light Jersey bulls (potters) £1 10s to ,£8 15s.
Dalgety and Co. report having held their usual monthly sale in the Waikanae yards on Thursday Jast, when they ottered a very heavy yarding of sheep and a medium one of cattle to a good attendance of buyers. A number of special lines of breeding ewes came forward and although keen competition under the hammer lacked animation, they succeeded in disposing of most at fair rates, although prices all through were in buyers' favour. Principal sales effected were as under: (Jn account of Mr I. G. Duncan, a pen of well-finished black faced lambs 25s 7d, 40 fat ewes ; <os, a nice line of 50 -Moot h ewes at : 30s od ; On account of oilier vendors, 200 G-tooth to f.f.ni. ewes 24s 7d, 4 and 5 year old ewes 18s to 225, small woolly lambs 9s Ud to lis, medium woolly lambs Kis to 15s, shorn lambs medium 10s 8d tq 12s. Cattle: Mixed sex weaners ,£2 12s fid to £2 15s, 18 months steers £7 10s, bulls £5 to £8, cows in full milk £6 12s Gd to £i 10s.
