The Death Penalty.
\ tl'BR PRESS ASSOCIATION.I . Cliristchureh, March 4. Frederick William Jiggers, con- , victed of the murder of Jolin Coultliard on the West Coast, was executed at Lyttelton to-day. His demeanour 011 the scaffold was very firm. In a statement to the sheriff, which the press was unable to obtain "except in snatches, the murderer persisted that he did not do the shooting. Death was instantaneous.
