THIRTEEN DEATHS IN A

MONTH

A montk's record of motor accidents makes melancholy reading. The following cases were reported in the newspapers from December 10 to January 8, last: December 10.—Palmei'ston N., J. McCarthy, killed> motor-cycle collided with train.

December 12.—New Plymouth, Hancock, killed, ran over by motor car.

December 18.—Dunedin, Mrs J. Clark, killed, motor-car capsized. December 14.—Bulls, J. Skinner (killed) and K. Webster (injured), car ran over bank.

December 14. —Napier, Grant, injured head and fractured collar bone, collision.

January 3.—Pabiatua, W. Forsyth, killed, catise not stated.

December 2'G.—Auckland, O. Turley> killed, knocked down by car.

Dece m ber 26.—Blenheim, W. Brown and T. Greenfield, fractured skull and t"'igh, car overturned on steep bank.

January 6. —Cambridge, Willis and Mi s s Jones, killed, car capsized.

December 6.--Gore, R. Coomer, killed, knocked down by motor car.

December 6. - — "Whiawhenua, D. S. Gordon, killed, Fell oft' motor lorry.

December 27. — Invercargill, TV. A. Hill, killed, motor capsized.

December 29. — Wellington, name not stated* passengers injured, collision of two cars.

January 7.—Hawera, Macdiarmid, badly bruised, collided with train.

January s*—New Plymouth, Anstiss, killed, motor accident.

December 7. — Dunedin, McLennan, killed, motor ran over bank.

January 7.—Hamilton, Gray, slight, injuries, collided with train.
