The Wonder Boy.
Probably one of the befit shows that has ever visited Levin is the "Wonder Boy" glass-blower, who will be 'flii the Showground tomorrow (Showday). This Wonder Boy was showing at the last Palraerston Show and was viewed by thousands of Palmerstonians, and was pronounced by flie press and public of that town to be the most remarkable boy of the age, he being able to blow, spin and weave glass before the eyes of the public proving him to be no fake side show. This exhibition is doubly interesting by the fact that he is a splendid specimen of New Zealander so far as physical proportions go. He was born at Foxton in 190 D, and being of such ample dimensions as a child of six years that liis father considered it useless to expect him to take up the ordinary avocations of life. He therefore took him to America and had him taught the art of glass-Slowing, which after 10 years he has thoroughly mastered so that he can give interesting public exhibitions. Until a few months ago he was engaged by a .well-known Auckland medical man, Dr de Olive Lowe, blowing medical glasses, but owing to the continuous eye-strain he had'to give tliat work up, and again going to tour the world giving his instructive and educational exhibitions. iTlie Wonder Boy will be blowing, spinning and blowing glassware all day on Wednesday on the Showground®. Parents are advised to take their children to see this interesting feature of the Show.
