SERIOUS AMERICAN DELAYS
Washington, Dec- 14. Mr Crozier, Chief of the Ordnance Dept., giving evidence before the Senate committee, blamed Mr Baker for delays in providing machine guns anr rifles. America manufactured 10,000 rifles daily for Britain, imt America changed her models because she was going to the French, and not the British sectors of the fighting line and the factories were now ropdticing less than 5000 daily. Thirty thousand machine guns were needed and none were yet delivered. The Committe 'twas .impressed -with the . inefficiency shown in pushing on war preparations.
