The biennial County elections took place yesterday, but passed off without much interest being manifested in them. The polling was not heavy at any of the booths, and the results subject, of course, to verification upon the official recouht were ava.ilable early in "the evening. Mr Goldsmith, the returning officer, carried out his air. nangeimcnts with customary thoroughness, andi was ably seconded' by his assistants.* The results of "the fjrst count are as follows:— TOKOMARU RIDING.
