MANAKAU PATRIOTIC FUNDS.

A public mooting was hold at Manakaxi last night to consular the disposal of the patriotic funds in hand there. Mr F. Walkley, secretary of the County Patriotic B'und, was present and explained the advantages of having one strong central fund for the whole district. After his statement of the position the matter was fully discussed and it was decided to hand over the amount. This means that the County Fund will benefit to the extent of £275, and the Manakau people are to be congratulated on deciding to come into the general scheme, under which the district funds arc being wisely administered and conserved. The mooting also decided to hold a day for the County Fund some time in January.
