THE ROLL OF HONOUR.
Mr W. Warn, of Levin, has received word that his cousin -Private George Tarbard, who went away with the ,18th Reinforcements, fell in the fighting near Ypres on the 4th. Private Tarbard,. wlio was about 25 years of was a native of England, but had resided in Wellington for about five years where he was very popular among his acquaintances. Another Levin boy to give his life in the great struggle is Lance-Corporal W. J. Stratton, son of Mr G. J. Stratton, of ~ Kimberley road, for whom much sympathy will be felt in his great loss. , Private Herbert Walter'Mitchell, third son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Mitchell, of Otaki, was killed in action on October 4. Sergeant Arthur Hall, who lived in Otaki for many years with his parents, who had the Railway Hotel, is another district boy to give his life. He went early to the war and was wounded some months ago, returning to the firing line when recovered. He leaves a wife and several young children, and Mrs R. Young, of Ohau, is a sister.
