Levin Croquet Club.

• Last night the ladies of tlio. Levin Croquet Oub assembled at the residence of Mrs; Sidney Hall, in Bath street, for the dual purpose of bidding farewell to Mrs. Chaplin, the (past secretary off the club, who Levin to reside in 3>argaville; and at the same time to express to ill's. 'Hugh Hall their appreciation of the many courtesies the club has had from lier. A vary enjoyable evening was spent in progressive euchre, and after supper the president of the club (Mrs. W-. M. Clark) on behalf of the members expressed to Mrs. Ohaplin their keen appreciation of the good' work she had done as secretary. iMirs. Qlark hoped that Mrs. Ohaplin would find a live club at Dargaville, and that when on the' green there she might recall some of the pleasant times spent in Levin; perhaps she might even bring a team from Dargavalle to play against Levin some day. To Mrs. Hugh Hall, Mrs CLairtk conveyed the gratitude of the members for the hard work she had put in >at the dhib funjotions, whelre she had Ween invaluable and also for her kindness in allowing the use of heir home for the social gatherings of (members every month.

During the evening several songs ■were sung by Miss Hlannian, and a oouple of pianoforte solos were rendered by Miss 'Gardener. The singing of "Auld' Lang Syne," land ''God Save the King" just before midnight .concluded a vetry enjoyabiljel ientertainment.
